Default Plug wires-does excessive heat cause my problem?

I have my plug wires running through aluminum looms, very near the manifolds. On my last run down the freeway, stop and go, very warm day, when I hit the top of the ramp and waited for the light to turn, the motor spit and popped basically ran very rough especially at lower RPM. Would this loom detail possibly be the culprit? I don't think the water temp was above 200 degrees judged by the temp gauge and a gauge on my expansion tank.

I can't see how the aluminum looms would do anything. You could have a fuel pump issue starting.

The fuel pump is strong (electric) but maybe it's overheated fuel causing the spitting and farting after heat build-up under the hood?

Usually the boot plugs near the exhaust will show the problem first. They will get brittle and crumble. This will be easy to spot. Then will will start to arc on the block. Once this happens it will run poorly all the time and at any RPM. This doesn't sound like your problem.

Heat will increase resistance of a conductor, and you will lose some spark energy and incur insulation degradation, however, I doubt this is the case here.
Possible, but not as probable as something else.
That being said, I do not care for the placement directly above the exhaust manifolds as you have them.
