Default Dyeing the interior

I just started painting my interior, I bought the paint from ecklers. When I finished it look very dull not shiny. When you paint the interior is it OK to put ArmorALL on it to shine it up or should it be left alone?

You might try a coat or two of glossy clear enamel over the paint. That is what I did.

I had the same thought when I did mine, but I don't think Armorall would be a good idea. Silicone and paint don't play well together.

If you want a different sheen you could use SEM clear. You can get it in gloss or semi-gloss and it's made for the application. Try your local paint supply stores.

BTW- my personal preference is semi-gloss rather than dull or hi-gloss.

Hey Mark ?

What are you doing, looking for cheap things to do to the vette, while you
save the pennies for the WS frame repairs ? Your interior was OK.

How did it turn out ?
Does the color of your new and old components match now ?

Hey Dave! yea, I need all the pennies I can get for the WS frame  some stuff didn't match and some were worn out. the paint actually came out good so I will do the whole interior to make it match. The new paint just has this dull look to it, I think I will try clear coat. Hows your new frame? I need to check it out.

Not to detract from your post - but the '70 frame is great (so far).
I found that the two frame rails had the end caps repaired just behind
the doors (usual place). I started to tackle the body mount bolts. The first
six (2 each #1 #2 #3) came out no problem - by hand - with my 1/2"
ratchet and a cheater bar. The #4s are spinning the nut in the inside cage.
I just haven't had the time to grind the heads off the bolts - but close to
raising the rear clip and inspecting the entire frame. Maybe this weekend,
but I have way to much work to do on my driver - rust holes needing
sheetmetal welded, then bondo and some paint == inspection sticker.

My buddy 73ken73 is interested in coming up some Saturday to check it
out, also. He just got his '73 back on the road. Maybe I can convince him to
drive it up from Peabody next weekend (9 days). We'll set something up.

Stay tuned ...

I just had another thought. I recall when I did mine, most everything had a nice sheen to it, but some didn't. I found that I had been shooting on a hot, dry day and had held the can too far from the parts. The paint had actually partially dried before it hit the part. I went back over those again and they came out great. Just a thought.
