Depends on the setup you get.. Are you talking "stock" type for your new C3? If so I BELIEVE there are baffles in them. The times I heard them they were under a 427/435 '69 and were deep and really made you take notice without being deafening, and he had removed some of the baffles. It was one of the best sounds I have ever heard. I suggest you get them just because I like them if for no other reason :p: :D :jester

I have set off car alarms with mine  and its only a 350. When you are cruising, its not bad. When you hit it, everyone turns their heads. Sweet music :D

I don't think they are to loud. They are louder then the rear exhaust. Also they are right at you ear instead of out the back, so they sound louder to you. I would not trade them for anything. :nonod:

I have 3" exhaust coming off of Stahl headers flowing through dual 3" unrestricted Moroso spiral flows on each side. The sound is deeeeeeeeep and loud. It should live up to the name "Rolling Thunder". So far she's spent all of her time in the garage and I'm not sure if it's the volume or the ground shaking that keeps making stuff fall off of the shelves and work bench when I fire it up.

Not for sensitive ears or inflight conversations between the driver and the passenger. After 32 years, I know what she's saying anyway. :D :D I think you get the picture.

Here's a good example, When I installed my pipes (Hooker header/sidepipes, fiberglass inserts) My son and I took her for a 200 mile trip. Nice hot sunny day, T-top off, glass down. After about 60 miles, I pulled into a Dunkin Dounuts drive through to grab some coffee's. I had to shut it down to talk to the girl to order, I though the speaker was broken. I got to the window, made her shout the amount to me :yesnod:
My 17 year old got a kick out of it, my Vette sounds absolutely killer without being too loud. But, I find after prolonged trips (especially highways) There is temporary hearing loss
I wouldn't have it any other way!

Cruising down the highway with the roof off the stock type do not sound any different than the original system. At slower speeds, yes they are louder but you would have a hard time convincing me to take them off :D

AT about 100 to 110 they start to get pretty loud, but then again so does the wind noise :)

( Not to mention the screaming from the passenger seat  )
