Default Fan Clutch: Whats missing?

Here's a picture of the fan clutch on a recently acquired 79 Corvette. I assume there should be something holding the outer tang on the coil. Whats missing?

Looks like there is a stop. Just to the right of the tang in the picture.

No that's just casting flash. You can take the tang and rotate it completely around.

Here's an original 79 L82 clutch.

1978. Non AC on the left. Original with AC on the right.

Don't think I have a front shot of the new "with AC" clutch I ended up with.

Thanks guys for the pictures. I see what's missing. I don't know where that piece went but it probably requires a new clutch.

A non AC car needs a non AC clutch
An AC car needs an AC clutch

I tried a non AC fan (locks up at a lower temp) on a AC (but no operational) car, no good. The clutch would bolt up to the water pump mount.

The mounting "ring" to the water pump is different. The 5blade fan mount is smaller that that of the 7 blade fan.

Spend the money on a good clutch. Cheapies are "cheap" for a reason?
