Default Help with replacing stock exhaust manifold

I have a 71 vette with factory 69 side exhaust. It flows out of stock exhaust manifolds. I was looking to replace them with something like patriot tight tuck headers or flowtech block huggers.
Here is my question.
Should I just leave it alone?
Thanks
Jim

If you have a stock 270hp 350, there is not much to be gained. On the other hand, if you have an LT-1 or an LS-5 it would probably be worthwhile.

My point is that you really need to tell us more about the powertrain (engine, transmission & rear gear) that you're running to provide a more meaningful response to your question.

Okay, I see that you have a 350 crate motor with a 4-speed and sidepipes. You also say that you have a lot of issues you're working on to get it more reliable. Without knowing more about the crate motor you have, I'd say you would be much better off concentrating on reliability issues before adding headers of any type.

Good luck... GUSTO

remember when you change away from stock manifolds you have to deal with Alternator, power steering, and A/C mounting. then deal with melted plug wires,
1 vote for retaining original manifolds. good luck.

Yea your right. I was wondering what do you do with the alternator? How would it attach to the header? Sounds like a big pain in the but.
I thought it would be easy. I'm learning nothing is ever easy.
Thanks

I used an aftermarket style header/manifold made by McJacks. For my alternator I purchased brackets that were used on an 1980 corvette.
