HELP WITH '80 NUMBERS
I've left my "Black Book" at home and am going to look at an '80 L-82 this afternoon. Can someone post the VIN (I believe numbers refelct the L-82 option) as well as block numbers. Also, the color code on the trim tag for Dark Claret.

On the '80 the fifth digit in the VIN will tell you the engine that it came with. 8=L48, 6=L82, and a H is the calif 305ci engine.
Block casting numbers were 3970010 and 14010207 for the L48 and L82 (either could have been used) and 4715111 for the 305.
The stamp pad suffix was ZAK and ZAM for the L48, ZBC and ZBD for the L82, and ZCA for the 305.
