The engine bay harness in my 71 has two fusible links near the horn relay.
Does anyone know what gauge wire these links are? Or what they should be?
They are not called out on the wiring diagram.
Thanks.
I believe the rule is that you use a fusible link that is two wire sizes smaller than the wire your protecting.
i.e. use a 14 gauge fusible link to protect a 10 gauge wire.
Hope this helps.

I'm looking at the '71 wiring diagram in my Haynes manual. There are 2 wires off the horn relay that are shown with fusible links. The 12ga Red wire has a 16 ga black fusible link in it, and the 16 ga black/dark blue/white wire has a 20 ga orange fusible link. Looks like I was wrong about the size difference in my first post.......
Buried in my Chilton's is a table of fuses which lists:
Solenoid Bat Terminal - 14 ga fusible link
Horn Relay - 16ga fusible link
Voltage Regulator, no 3 term - 20 ga fusible link
Ammeter circuit (both sides of meter) - 20ga fusible link
72 appears to be the last year for fusible links.
