Default Correct speedometer cable length?

Hello C-3 Forum:

What was the orig. length for a 1968 BB, 4speed speedo cable w/casing? it is 1 piece from Muncie to back of speedo head.
I see them offered from 61" through 81" ?
I have not pulled my old one off yet to measure it's oal.
Threaded knurled nut at transmission side of cable casing is stripped and will not tighten. It starts to tighten and slips loose again. Some gorilla grip in the past over tightened it with channel locks
Thank you,
Marshal

I would buy the longer 81" cable so it can be routed with larger bends.

The Cruise Control Cars use two Cables. One to the Firewall where the Cruise control was and then a Short one to the Speedo. A Car with out uses one long one to go all the way.

Gentleman Thanks for the replies.
81" seems a little long? Seems like there would be allot of cable
to route? I don't know as 61" maybe too short?
Anybody recently tackle this job on a 68/69?
Worse senario, I'll have to pull the old one out and get out the tape
measure.
When did cruise control become avail for c-3's?
