LOL! No is just took it out to allow easier removal of the tach/speedo housing, as well as access to wiring etc. I also had to run a -04 line for the boost gauge. It's only 4 bolts ,a set screw, and a couple of electrical connections, so it just makes life alot easier.

Monty, that looks nice. You should look into getting those panels electro-polished and/or anodized. It would look great and be very durable, plus unique. Anodizing is very cool, and pretty inexpensive.

Monty- Great idea! I also went with Pro Comp Tach and speedo gauges. You got me thinking of modify my console more than I already have. Good job.

Very cool Monty - but I'm curious why you put the tach on the left, doesn't that make it harder to see when you have one hand on the shifter and the other on the wheel at 12 o'clock? 74droptop has the speedo/tach opposite yours.

I just put it all together real quick to show to the guys that inquired about it. The other 6 gauges will be rearranged as well, I just put them in randomly. I have to pull them back apart to make templates for several guys that have emailed me wanting a set of panels.

Monty, your craftsmanship is awesome. I normally like aluminum dashes, and your gauges look good in them too, but when I saw the pic with them installed in the interior my opinion is that you either need to also do the shifter console, or paint them black. It just doesn't seem to flow together. Just my opinion though. Either way, I'd just be happy to have your car!!!
