Default Which heads

Which Edelbrock aluminum heads can be used with side exhaust headers, I know some have raised exhaust ports and some don't. It's a big $ change, I'm thinking about it...

Unless you get the bad boy race heads...I believe all the Edelbrocks have ports in stock location.

Big Block or Small Block?

Why Edelbrock??

Edelbrock is a decent street head. Depends on what cam you plan to run and what your goals are. If it's a low compression motor they have the smallest chamber option to try and get some compression.

There are definitely better options for power out there...like Brodix. They make some with stock height ex ports. AFR's will also make a lot more power and even though ports are raised .375 they seem to fit with most headers just fine.

I've got AFR's on my big block with Hooker header and side pipes. I was aware of the height difference, but everything fit fine.

AFR heads do make more power, but it took a long time for me to get mine. Hopefully the wait time has been reduced.

edelbrocks are not much better flowing than stock iron. ported 781 or 049 will outflow them. rect ports are a waste of airflow till you get over 5000 rpm.

I have some mild ported 781's, may just keep them, so far they work good, if I can get it to run right...... OBX side exhaust, I had to "massage" one pipe to clear the frame.

I have AFR, they are a great set of heads.

I can send you contact info to a AFR seller that have good prices and super good service, PM me if you are interested.

I bought both my set AFR heads (and intake) from him.

AFR or Brodix with the right cam will net you at least 75HP over the Eddy's. More over OEM heads.
