This is my first real car I've worked on, so I'm learning abit as I go. I recently put on a Street Demon 625 on an Edelbrock Performer EPS and when I went to put the throttle cable, I found out it was too long and the kickdown cable was too short! I already installed the Demon Carburation bracket for the throttle and kickdown cables. I was wondering what y'all recommend in relation to the cables.
I'm a Rookie to Corvettes.....the previous owner installed a throttle cable that is too long so I took the excess "bow" and position it so it would not chafe against engine parts....then before I connected the end to the carb I had someone press on the accelerator while Ipulled on the end of the internal wire to make sure it wasn't binding.
My TH400 automatic transmission uses a vacuum hose to the modulator on the passenger side of the transmission....so I don't have a clue about the kickdown cable----other than to study the routing to see if there is a shorter route to the carb bracket.
Take a look at Lokar kits - great products and I'm sure you can find one that works for your application. I know they make "cut to fit" kits as well if they don't have one specific to your setup.
