mayberg,
your fire extinguisher is mounted to the floor?
the seat tracking?
or is it laying there on the floor?

That bracket would be ideal! Do you know why it only accepts Amerex extinguishers, however?

*Edit*-It is very pricey at $50.00US plus the usual nonsense in trying to get it into Canada. So I did my own thing, below.

BTW I exchanged the 3/4 lb for a 2-lb unit. The price difference was only $3.00!

Well here is installation - The Bubba Version. I have weatherboots so that presented a problem of sorts. But I decided that three 1/8" holes through them, the carpet and the floor would not hurt. You cannot see the holes through the carpet. That weatherboot is normally cleaned while in the car so that is not a problem. But things can be disassembled if need be.

*Edit*-The third screw is now in.

Here is the fire extinguisher plastic mounting frame, held in place with SS sheet metal screws through the floor. Seems very secure. I finished the job with the third middle screw also.

And here is the finished product.

Thanks Guy,
My install was based on your pic. But a $50.00US bracket (plus shipping, handling, brokerage fees, etc) did not seem a good investment. So I went with $0.05 in SS screws.

For those who do not want to modify your vette I manufacture a C3 fire extinguisher bracket that is build American tough. The parts are cold rolled steel and water jet machined. I'm now powder coating all my brackets. Why do I only use Amerex extinguishers? They are the best and there made in America. Amerex fire extinguishers case is made of steel and Aluminum (no plastic) and their bracket(steel) are powder coated as well. I will not sell cheap fire extinguishers. Be careful of the cheap fire extinguisher. The Kidde brand has many lawsuits. I also manufacture brackets for C2,C4 and C5 Corvette's.

Dan,
I was pretty testy last night. Just fatigue. I wish you the best with your product!

*Edit*-I have taken back my comments from last night. They were not in line with appropriate Forum courtesy.

Paul-No problem, I didn't mean to imply anything derogatory about your set up. It will work fine. Since you have holes drilled, why don't you replace the SS sheet metal screws with 1/8 SS bolts with nut/washer under the floor pan. This will give you a much stronger mount and stop any movement from road vibration. You might want to add some sealant to the bolts to seal the holes.

Excellent idea! I think I still have some #8 or #10 SS countersunk screws and nuts that I used on my rocker panel moldings. They would be ideal.
