In my opinion it is not any different. I have had three smallblocks and now an LS in this car. Could you make changes that would cause a bit more heat? Sure. You could also do the same with a Gen I engine.
Just changing to a different exhaust system could make a difference. One LS swap may cause more heat, and another may reduce it. And really there can be a lot of differences between LS swaps.
Other than the LS water temp generally being a bit higher (196 LS vs 180 SBC thermostat) there's not much difference. It also occurs to me that anyone capable of swapping a motor should be able to add insulation.
From a thermodynamics point of view, the old SBC burned almost twice the fuel. Wonder where all that heat went.
This cures engine/transmission heat transfer problems...my interior heat went from 130*-150*F down to ambient air temperature plus 5*F in my convertible under the dash and at the floorboard.....
If removing the dash is out of the question......cover the firewall and underside of the underside of the entire floorpan with a quality insulation/sound deadener.....
