rims and tires

Just bought a 1979 c3 vette. want to put a larger rim on. 17 or 18 inch rim. so i am looking for recommendations. i suppose i need to know who has done this and what is a good rim and tire size that fits in the well wells. i would like to keep the fronts and rears the same size so i can rotate them. would really like a directional tire. but what i need most is rim and tire sizes.

Above these Normal Threads there are a few Sticky Threads. One of them is about tire/wheel combos. Read that one.
