Holley Tri Power Tuning Resource?

1) Always optimize/tune the ignition system before attempting to fine tune ANY carb.
2) Disconnect end secondary carb linkages from center primary carb, verifying they're 100% closed.
3) Tune center carb as you would the primary of any Holley, with engine warm. Note that you may have to increase idle ~50-100 RPM if adjusting with no filter to compensate for the drop with, so double check idle RPM with filter.
4) Reconnect secondaries, verifying the linkage is perfectly adjusted to close them when the throttle is in idle position.
5) Drive car to verify no bog at WOT under load. This is important, as it won't react the same sitting in the driveway.
6) If no bog, install the next weakest vacuum secondary springs (Holley kit # 20-13, two required).
7) Repeat steps 5 & 6 until it bogs, then reinstall the weakest springs that did NOT cause bog.
8) Happy motoring!
In any event, do NOT attempt to re-invent the linkage system. This is something the General got right the first time. Hope that helps.

The above information is spot on. This is how my 68 L-71 is done. I have a 2 or 3 page GM tech bulletin back from my Chevy mechanic days that has good info to add to the above. PM your address and I'll dig it out and send you a copy.
