Hi All,
The engine in my '69 is in need of rebuilding/machining and I'm looking for recommendations for machine shops/engine builders in SE Wis. Any opinions are greatly appreciated!
Jeff
Jeff,
Steve at AMS about half a mile from state fair park is good, and has been there a long time. His only employee is Chris, and I'm guessing he's been there 15+ years. No fly by night outfit. He will do exactly what you need/want. If you go there, let him know I recommended him to you.

Hi Mike,
I remember you telling me about them and they are on my list to visit. And be assured, I'll be letting them know you sent me!
Jeff
I use C&S Preformance, Butler, Wi. They did 2 engines for me. They both turned out excellent. Talk with Mel, owner. He'll listen to what you say and can afford and make suggestions to help with your build. T
The orange engine is the 357. This engine has numerous track days on it and a lot of road time. Disassembled for an upgrade.
The unpainted engine is a 4 bolt 400 stroked short block. T

Thanks for the recommendation. C&S is about a mile from me, so they too are on my list, and I'll be visiting them shortly.

I used SPR in Port Washington to build my 427. I had the block, crank, heads, and manifolds. He built it as a full roller. Call Jeff St Peter at 262-268-0040 or jeff@speedperformanceresearch.com.

Thanks for the info. Sweet looking engine. Did you get your car back together yet?
Jeff
Thanks. I went a little overboard on the engine, but I've never had one built before and probably won't again. We made it this far with the car....now working on wiring harnesses and waiting on some miscellaneous little body parts...like the hood.

Lookin' Good. I hope things go well for you. Good luck rounding up all those "little" things...
Jeff
any of you have any recent experience with NVR (Butler), LAM (Kenosha) or TNT just south in Gurnee?
Howard, I went to NVR for my motor. Very nice work and prices were very good. I think I paid $1,600 to have my short block done with SRP pistons and Eagle rods with rod bolt upgrade (L19 bolts) Tom is a great guy to work with.
