I don't have much Corvette knowledge. The last advice I was given on here worked great. So here goes. I bought the BILSTEIN SPORT SHOCKS as recommended. Love what they did for my car. Now I want to replace the springs in my car. My car is a 70 Convertible with a 502 automatic. This car was my fathers and I only drive it about 50 miles a month. It never see's the track. So what rear spring and front springs would be best?
I haven't tackled the front suspension on my car yet, but I paired the Billstein sport shocks with a VBP 330 composite rear spring. That's what most people go with. It makes a big difference going to that setup!
A popular big block combo is the 550lb front springs which drop the front about 1" vs stock, combined with a 360lb composite rear. Your actual ride quality results may depend a lot on tire selection and other items like bushing material etc.
It kind of depends on how much weight you have to support. I have a small block with lots of aluminum and removed a lot of unnecessary stock junk so I'm running pretty light. I'm using 460lb front springs with one cut coil and the recommended matching rear is a 330lb composite spring. I'm more than happy with the Bilstein HDs I have in front.
