I have a 79 with manual door locks, but with power windows.
Does anyone know if the wire harness into the door has the power door lock wires. Hope someone knows so I dont have to pull the door panel to search for it.
I have fiddled with GMs for years, and have never seen spare wires in a door harness, in case someone wanted to add a power whatever. Someone did install an aftermarket power lock on my car before I got it, and they added the wires for the motor.

While I very much doubt that the wires running into the door will be there, the harness wiring might.
Two different connectors are used leading into both doors for the power lock actuators/switches. Look for an unused two-wire connector with one pink and one purple wire. Also look for an unused three-wire connector with one orange, one tan and one grey wire. All are of small (18) gauge. Probably easiest to check on the passenger side as there is much less wiring in that area--you may have to remove the glove box. The connectors are somewhat above the wiring grommet leading into the doors.
My 78 has power windows but not power locks and no wires inside the door for them. I am retrofitting mine for the power locks. I needed switches for each door, the actuators and the actuator rods. Those were the most difficult to find, especially the left ( driver) side. Expect to pay about $20 for each. ON the 81 & 82s, you have to spec the pwr lock harness wires, as they can be had with or without.
With my 80 Corvette the conversion wasn't that bad at all. The main body wiring in the car had the power door lock wiring. All you needed to add was the door wiring, actuators and switches. The door harness just plugged into the open connectors in the footwell.
Collect these parts from a Corvette salvage yard and you are good to go! Just be careful cutting your door panels for the switches.
Look up at the wiring in the footwells to see the couple of connectors that have nothing attached to them. Then you will know if the main body harness is equipped with the necessary wiring.
