A big block will drop right in with no problems other than the front springs will need to be changed because of the additional 250 pounds of weight. I ended up putting 1" aluminum spring spacers from Summit Racing under my new front springs to get the front end high enough to avoid tire/fender rubbing.

Have you considered a big inch small block or LS engine ?

You can do a 427 inch small block without the weight penalty.
