Default Power Steering Pump Cap???

Here are 2 pics of my 77. One is with the belt installed at the correct tension. As you can see... the PS cap sits directly under the alternator bracket and cannot be removed.
The other pic is no belt with the PS pump angled over so that I have access to the cap. If I position it this way I need to get a longer belt.
Looking at the pictures.. do I have everything bolted in correctly? I have the service manual and it certainly looks correct.

Yes, you need a longer belt because the belt you have on it is wrong.

Following. Have the same "issue".
PO cut the dipstick under the cap so that it will come off so uuhhh yeah, there's that on the list of things to purchase.

This is the best photo of my power steering cap location.
You can see that it is past the bracket. I can take mine off
without any modifications, but it is a tight fit.

Donnie, thanks for the pic. I have a question. I only need belts for the power steering pump and the alternator. I see in your picture that you have a belt going from the crank pulley to the power steering pump and a belt that goes around the crank and water pump pulley's for the alternator. That's the same set up I am going to run. That means I only need a single groove pulley for the water pump instead of the stock 2 groove pulley. What is the other belt shown in your picture for that is just hanging? Is that for your AC compressor that's not shown in the pic?

Yes, that is for the air conditioner compressor that I didn't have mounted
yet. That photo was just after I had reinstalled the engine and didn't have
everything back on yet.
