Question on a 1980 corvette. What is the vin designator for an L92
engine and what is its position in the vin number.

If google serves me right and you mean l82 it's a number 6 in position 5.

6 and THE front engine pad will read VO 3 NUMBERS THEN ZBC OR ZBD BELOW CAR VIN NUMBER

Position 5 in the VIN is 6 for the L82, 8 for the L48, and H for the California only 305.
