I just sourced a late 80's BOP (Buick Olds Pontiac) wiper motor for $65 NOS. And has the cover/module!!! Clocked correctly for a C3.
Uses the 8 pin Delphi connector- just a quick look not incorporating the "pulse" mode - should be a simple 3 wire hook up- has an output for the washer pump plus will park (hidden)
Don't have a wiper switch on the bench right now to test- I'll pull one out of my 73 when I get the motor-
Instead of ground switching - modding and running +12 through the OEM switch would be pretty straight forward.

Keep us posted Richard. I'm not in any big hurry anymore since my Vette is not my daily driver since my son went off to Collage last month. I still want to get my wipers working though and working more reliably. I don't want to spend another $100 on a crappy aftermarket or remanufactured OE style one.
I've found a few Olds motors on-line anywhere from $40 to $90 too.

I found that Rock Auto has a Cardone remanufactured for $46.79

I THINK you can see the controls on my '72 vert there and the linear actuator I used for the door.......
I glued a burglar alarm contact switch to the windshield glass, and a magnet to the door, stops the door motor, turn on the wipers, door opens and another switch in the vent grill senses another magnet in the door....so door opens and closes ONLY when the wipers are parked, due to me not turning off the wipers untill end of the sweep, they park after every sweep.....simple that way....
I built my own wiper control borad 555 timer of course, and almost infinate sweep control on LO speed, to get high speed there is a switch to the right of the main on/off/speed control the little red button to the left is the off board washer pump.....I used the stock wiper motor assy, AS I RECALL I I had to do a simple mod inside to change some simple function.....at any rate the door power switch is eliminated......
I did all this about 20 years ago.....old ET here so it's second nature to me.....see pix below....
sorry can't see the controls, they hiding under the dash in the same location as the OEM install, just filled in the slot for the control sw/pot and drilled a hole on either side for the washer/speed sw.....

THANK you!!
I did test it out - don't have the notes in front of me- but was easily switched high- low and park. Works exactly as the Original but is positively switched.
Hey Don-
I am coming up with 40-184- as the original part number is 22072788 then superseded with 88961292
If you wanna find it in the junkyard you can get one with the board and motor for easily under $50- look at this eBay listing and it has every model car it was in- from the Buick Century- Olds Cutlass-Pontiac 6000-Chevy Celebrity

Anyone have one of these wiper motors installed and operational yet? Thanks Don

I got 2 of the 40-184 wiper motors from Pick and Pull today. Has anyone figured out a switch or wiring diagram yet. Thanks Don

I drew up a diagram.
I used the letter on the plug versus wire color as they differ from various models-
It works! Parks like it's suppose to- high low speed- and can control a washer pump.

I subscribe to you on Youtube, so got a notification of new video posted. watched the video, didn't really grasp what I was watching other than 2-speed wiper motor with park, but since it's you, syas it's for C3, and sure don't look like my wiper motor. no description on the youtube video. so then have to come over here and scroll through the posts to find the matching thread. sort of a reverse lookup.
as always, a nicely executed project.

If I understand this correctly: I can get this wiper motor, wire it per the diagram, and it will work, including park itself correctly so I can use it in my 68? I ask because I'm unclear wether or not it will park the wiper, the video doesn't seem to show this (maybe i missed it). I need a better solution in my car than wiring up the 68 wiper (full custom car, stock wiring is all gone and I've re-wired it with a Painless hot rod kit). If that is the case I could put the wiper control on my Ididit column which would be ideal.
These motors have the park feature- and 2 out of the three holes line up as far a mounting- just requiring one extra hole.

thanks for confirming Richard454 ! this is great! I'll probably pick one complete from ebay and such (since Rock Auto only has the motor but not the board that attach to it).

Hi Richard, I'm working on the interior for the '69 custom that I bought the headlight door kit for. I have a custom console that eliminates the wiper switch. In looking for a replacement, I found the following: https://www.ebay.com/itm/295485068489 . What motor would I need to use this switch and have intermittent functionality? How would I wire such. Your insight would be much appreciated. Thanks, Joe
