Hallo, its been a long time and while I've been rebuilding the engine on my 1973 BB I came to a complete stop/dilemma!..:
After putting a bigger/taller intake I can't close the Hood! I tried everything and the clearance between the carb and hood with No filter is only 1/2 inch!!
I dont like to cut a hole on the hood!.so
- should I have the body shop rise the original BB hood
or should I get one of those High Rise Twin Turbo Hood form Corvette America...I like them but do the have more clearance than my BB one??

You'll need an L-88 style hood and even then you may have to make modifications to it.
I thought about that and yes you,re right I would still need modif.!
Should I just have body shop rise my hood scoop then?..don't even
know how expensive its going to be

You'd be a lot better off buying an L-88 style hood and then have a body shop make any additional modifications to it. I am running a heavily modified drop base air cleaner with a 3" tall element and even then I had to remove 1/4" from the top of my Air Gap intake manifold to end up with a whopping 1/8" clearance.
If you follow that link I posted above that is the high rise version of the L88 hood that is 1.5 in taller than the original. Another option is a tall cowl induction hood.
Machine shop can machine your carb flange down or you can try those form triangle air cleaners that like to catch fire. This is a well known problem, why did you use that intake?

I assumed it would fit under my aftermarket L-88 hood but quickly found I needed to cut my air cleaner base down about 5/8", heavily dimple it to clear the Holley float adjustment screws, AND cut 1/4" off the top of my intake manifold. I just did what I needed to do to make everything work.

You're too funny...I guess Im NOT gonna try those then.
the rise from my BB hood its only 2"..any upgraded intake would have give me trouble!..I thought I could resolve with a drop base filter...but NO such luck
well...my BB hood has a 2" rise..so this one would only gain me 2" more..not enough imo since the tip of the carb. is less than 1/2 inch from touching!
the only other option it would be a 4" scoop on top of my hood...
