My daily driver is a 1990 BMW 535i, I participate in a few BMW boards and this thread came up. Street racing is just not something to do, amazing it takes something like this to prove it.
The damage to the car is inconsistant with the statement "I T-Boned an F-150 at about 50-70mph".
That board is being trolled.
Ya no kiding heh? Would anyone in his right mind post like that guy if 3 weeks earlier u'd killed someone? Especially if its your cousin? no fukin way.... :bs

Re: (45ACP)
Well, baisiclly it was noon, me and my cousin were going to lunch. I dont really remmember much, actually I DONT KNOW what happened. It knocked me out... for 3 weeks. I think I was racing a mustang gt from my school, and he clipped me at like 50-60mph, and it was a blind curve on sunset. And I T-Boned an F-150 at about 50-70mph. My passanger was killed instantly, and I got bleeding of the brain, dislocated shoulder, colapsed lunge. I was a veggie for about a month. So no more street racing for me anymore, and if you still do... than you are stupid. I thought this wont happen to me, well guess what... IT DID! So next time if you speed, think twice.

Does make you think or it should. Been there done that meaning street racing and really we all shouldn't do it but sometimes we are WEAK and do it anyway. Only hope nobody is hurt or killed when it is done. Wishful thinking I know, because it happens ev ery day.
A few months back a kid in a mustang gt was racing at a place called earth city in st. louis. He was trying to prove something to a guy in a talon or something like that. Well the street is about 2 miles long. they started near the middle and forgot to slow down for the turn. The kid in the mustang downshifted from 5th to 2nd and let out the clutch while going into the turn, very very bad thing to do. Back end came out from under the car and he fliped intot he ditch. Not sure of his condition after that but people are still dumb enough to go back to the same spot and race. Cops show up almost as quick as the cars get there and line up now.

Re: Street Racing (QuickVet)
i dont know what really happened but that stinks anyway.
OK, seriously, while I did think it was a :troll post, I cannot disagree with the message. Lest we forget what happened in Oceanside, back in my birth county of Nassau...
The car he was racing against, a 2001 Lamborghini operated by Vasapolli, crossed into the northbound lanes and collided head-on with a 2000 Volvo being driven by Glenn Jacofsky, resulting in the deaths of Vasapolli and Glenn Jacofsky, and the injury to Amy Jacofsky.
No way... two guys were racing, one loses control and kills himself and an innocent bystander, and the other guy goes to jail for manslaughter when he didn't hit anybody?!?!?!?!

Yes sir! Contributary manslaughter or something like that but yes, if you are participant in a drap race and someone dies as a result of the race, even if you are not directly involved in the actual death you are legally responcible as if it were you. At least in MI.
Its a shame but this kinda thing happens all the time. Innocent people get killed as well. This guy will live with this the rest of his life. Im sure he's learned his lesson. Its one I hope I never have to learn. No matter how good you drive or how cautious you are, you can never fully trust the other. Even so can you totally trust yourself? Furthermore, even with racing put aside, getting into a car and calmly driving to work is one of the most dangerous things many of us will ever do.
Ok - it may not be 100% true but - whoaaaaaa d-u-d-e- that's gotta hurt !....
I confess that I've participated in the occassional street race or 2 but there are "hidden" rulez of what's the deadliest thing you can do......
For one I don't mess with TRAFFIC - period ! ....Second, if the sun or rain or whatever weather is a factor - don't RACE !!!
.....but I usually only do acceleration trials in a straight line on an open highway for about 15-seconds.........
Yeah - it's bad - I don't need a lecture - but like I said, there ARE rules ! :p:
......otherwise somebody will get hurt -permanently-

Yes way! This is for real! Go to www.google.com and search for the keywords "Oceanside Corvette Lamborghini crash" and you will find various stories about it. I recall when the story first broke, the articles included pictures of the aftermath, but I cannot find them now.
i agree with pretty much all the opinions expressed: yes, i think it was a troll post, i don't think i would be quite so nonchallant(sp) if i had killed someone street racing. the wreckage is pretty horrendous but totally inconsistant with his story. earlier this year, we had two girls die and three others seriously injured street racing back to school during lunch hour. the road they were on had a slight curve, only about 40*, but the cops estimated their speed on this road to be in excess of 90mph (keep in mind, this is a 'residential' thoroughfare) when they lost control, jumped a curb and slammed into a light pole that cut the car in half at the fire wall. the passenger died instantly, the driver was brain dead for about three days untill the family pulled the plug and one of the back seat passengers lost her leg among other injuries. the other two girls were seriously hurt with broken bones and such but other wise fairly lucky given the circumstances.
the kicker is the school board closed the campi around here during school hours because of this 'accident' and all the kids were pizzing and moaning about it. but i heard this morning another kid died and his buddies are in the hospital today. why? street racing. :nonod:
keep it safe, keep it on the track
I agree there should be very harsh penalties for people that are involved with high speed driving like this Lamboghini incident. Not only are the drivers of each car at risk, but so are scores of innocent people not involved with the aggressive driving. If you want to race, it should be on the track, not on the street. My son road races motorcycles, and he does not have any desire to ride on the street at all anymore. He likes to drive very aggressively, and the track provides him with medical help when needed and a place where everyone has the same attitude. This road racing in traffic is really not much different from a drunk driver on the road. :U

Street racing... DON"T DO IT.
After reading this thread I don't know if I should  , or :U
Whine whine whine we were drag racing and whine whine whine and the other guy killed somebody and whine whine whine but its not my fault.
WHAT? Take responsibility for your actions. You were illegally racing, now deal with it.
For those whos testosterone (or estrogen) levels are so high that they must prove their gazongas (or ovaries) are bigger than someone elses... PLEASE take it to the track.
