Does anyone know much about BIGS Holley Dominators ?
They're going for about $600-$700 on eBay (750cfm) and they look pretty tricked out...... don't care much about gas mileage - but this thing should make my big block a rocket, right ?!?! :chevy
Hello, I am also looking at that same carb. I was going to buy a Holley HP-8896 and bolt it on, but those bigs carbs look very cool. The price seems right, I hope someone can give an update on performance.
later,
Joe
My 750 dp made my 350 seemed like I slapped NOS on it compared to my 600 4150 vac sec Holley. I think a 650 dp would be better for me but I already had the 750 so I am trying to make it work. If you have not moded you engine much I bet a 750 dp would be about as good and cheaper.
Yeah - you have a point but remember, my '68 is a Big Block and it gulps fuel mighty quick.....
Right now I get hesitation from 1st to 2nd shifts and when I adjusted the float level - it trashed my idle
I've had nothing but pure hell dealing with this Holley Silver Series 750 Vac. Sec. carb (3310 model ?)..... and it was purchased brand new from Summit 2 yrs. ago (about 1500 miles since then) :(
I don't think that getting a Dominator Carb is a good idea... I bought a Holley 80528 (Holley 750 mech. secondaries HP series carb) and it rocks!!! It's the same price as a Dominator and the same or better performance. The 80528 also uses the regular 4150 bolt pattern and you can use a regular air filter...
Just a thought...
Yeah.....I probably was a bit over-zealous about getting a Dominator.....
I'll stick to either a 4050 or a Vac. Sec. 750 Holley.
The main thing is that I want a re-worked Holley so all the factory manuf. blems & defects are taken care of..... I'm just so picky about the perf. since I drive my C5 computer car everyday.
Just imagine a 'flawless' accel. Big Block '68 vette - but I'll need a computer for that !
