Think that's the Ambient Temp cutoff switch.
Keeps the compressor from running when the temp is below 29 degrees.
Might want to test it first, could be hard to find.
Not sure that's the original - could be aftermarket.

ok so i think your right about it being a cut off switch. thing is, when i see it on line, it doesn't have a way to bolt to the box like mine in the pic.

were have you seen this cut off switch go?
So,the reason I said "I think" is because that looks like the switch used up to 1972. You have a 73 and there shouldn't be one.

Check your AIM, if there is a PN try googling it. Also try Rock Auto, type in the descriptions from the various replies. Rock has a lot of pictures of the various parts. Good luck.
