I had Hooker side pipes put on and now having carb issues. Spitting and dieseling after I shut the car off. The shop said they adjusted the carb, but still not right. The car had Headmen headers on it before. Does it need to be re-jetted? The engine is a full roller LS6 with the snowflake aluminum heads, over 600 HP.
Is it a 1050 dominator? If so, which one? 2 or 3 circuit. Its gonna take a lot of tuning to get it to run right..
Usually if its dieseling and running on after you shut it off, its because the idle speed is too high...however, with a solid roller, its normal to have it idling at 1000 rpms+ to help lube the cam/lifters.
You're gonna have to experiment with a few things to see what it needs.. I'd verify the timing is set correctly, then go from there.
Thank you I will find out which one it is, I don't know much about these thing, I just love old big block vettes and want it run right. Is it to much carb for the street? It ran great before I had the side pipes put on.
Thanks, John.
Your cars are beautiful!
