C3 ls1 swap tach issue

So I completed my ls1 swap in my 81 and my tach reads low under 1000 rpm and high above 1000 rpm. I have changed the setting in hptuners from 6 to 3. I have read online about adding in a resistor connected to power to boost the signal but don't know if that will fix my problem. Anyone else have this problem?

The pullup resistor is typically used when the tach does not function at all, but worth a shot. Can you check the output with another tach to determine if your is bad?

Thanks. It seems to be working only some of the time. After I reflashed with hptuners it started working. I will see how long it lasts.
