Default 1981 interior assembly question... HELP

I am putting my interior back in my car including new carpet , but i am running into problems on assembly .
How do you install the rear speakers and the covers,, I took them out 16 months ago and can not figure it out.. Video???
Under dash light assembly where do they get connected to?
and then I have a orange and black wire harness running thru the center console and it ends with a female open at the end ,, what should it be connected to ?..is it for the rear defroster ?? i have no loose mail connectors back there... help me out guys please ... thanks Bruce,, my email address is brews62@yahoo.com if that is easier...

I am in the middle of taking everything out of my '81 right now. If you can post a picture, I might be able to help you. The rear defroster in mine is a 4 pronged female connector. I am finding a lot of the wiring is not connected to anything in mine.

The courtesy lamps hook into the brackets on the kick panels.

This is how the rear speakers mount.

I don't know what the wire connector is.. can you post a picture.

well I found out the orange and black connector belongs to my power seat harness (duh) i should have known that. the rear speakers are still a mystery ,, , what are factory speakers? mine are 6x8's? and the wilcox diagram is the same I have in the manual// I am wondering if i have to take off the brackets and mount them as a set .. what a pain in the ***...

Nope.. the speaker mounts to the grille, then you mount the assembly to the bracket... I'm sorry I don't remember the size, but I do think they were 6 x 9. If you are using aftermarket speakers the magnet on the back may be causing you some issues.. IDK..

Post up a picture of what you have and I'm sure someone here may know more about this than me.
