Anybody know how I can find out what options I have on my 81? On my 89 IROC, the codes were listed on a sticker in the center console. I haven't found a similar sticker on my 81 yet. The obvious ones, such as power windows and what-not, I don't need a sticker. But I'd still like to see everything my car has.
I think they didn't have that sticker included in -81. It came later... It might be that the only way is to find the production sheet. Possible places that I've heard of is on top of the tank (so called tank sticker), the production sheet is glued to the upper surface of tank. Production sheet might also be beneath the dashboard or beneath driver seat. If the car is rebuild then the possibility of finding the sheet gets smaller. Some previous owner might have found the sheet and haven't stored it. Hope this helps... Maybe somebody can be more specifics about the places where the sheet can be found from late C3's.
The build sheet will be the actual record of the options installed during manufacture. Most all of the cars built at Bowling Green (with the exception of some 82s) have build sheets avaliable. Some 81 models were built at Bowling Green (mostly two-tone cars) and the build sheet might be available through the NCM. Might be worth a try. Only BG built cars will have a build sheet available.
