I'm going back to the stock manifold and carb set up on my '69, L-46. I've got most of my parts in hand, but there are so many manifold gaskets to choose from on Summit or Jegs. I'm not sure which is the correct set (thickness, port size, etc.). I have the original block and heads. Can anyone give me some guidance here?
Summit and Jegs cater to the racers, for the most part, therefore in many cases they specify the port size in the gasket, to allow the HP builders to get the gaskets they need, without having to try and find the engine they were OE on.
In your case, I'd go to the FelPro website, and choose your gaskets by make, model, and year.
Noticed that the Felpro1204 has a block off on the exhaust crossover. I understand that the crossover mainly helps with warm up time. Correct? I live in TX, so if that's its main function, I can see why it would not be needed. Is my assumption correct?
Fel Pro 1256....you might want to call around to an Auto Machine shop for a deal. My buddies shop has about 10 of these left over from assembling motors with bigger intake ports.

You are correct and accounted for that seeing your location....
Nothing I have had here needs a choke except the weed trimmer...
Adjust the choke wide open and you will be fine.
The 1204 does block the heat riser....had no problem.
go with felpro and I always go with stock on stock car, meaning I dont want the crossover blocked, even in texas takes to long to warm up and if you drive in colder months it makes a difference, my 2 cents.
I don't know the last time you were in Texas....but I can warm up my truck faster than I can warm up an egg...

yeah, not many cold months in TX. Mid 70's today. Is it Spring yet? I've got my heat riser valve wired open (until I get around to installing the spacer). Those damn things rattle too much. So, I guess having the crossover blocked is no big deal, since the heat riser valve is out of commission anyway.
Thanks for the replies!
