Default LS1 tranny bolt on

does anybody know if a LS1 5.7 motor bolt up to my 1980 automatic transmission.

Yes, the engine will bolt to the transmission, but you also need aftermarket engine mounting plates.
I am not sure what other complications arise during the swap. I have been considering installing a crate engine into my 1978 for several years, but I also want to install a tremec 5 speed ( which is longer ) , so I am still going through everything in my head before I spend close to $10 grand on it

Yes it will take 5 out of the 6 bolts a Chevy pattern uses but, you need an adapter to get the torque converter to correctly pilot into the crankshaft. Check with Scoggin Dickey Chevy or Pace Performance for details.

I've done a lot of research on this and found a lot of aftermarket parts to make this happen. I already have the engine so now it's just a matter of when, Thanks
