Default C3 Sport Mirror Cable question

I have a 1976 Stingray that have had Sport mirrors mounted on it at some time in the past.I've noticed that the mirror just flops around and had started to actually come out of the housing. When I looke at it closer,I found someone had completely removed the cable, and just mounted the remote on the inside door panel.Does anyone know if a replacement cable can be purchased for the sport mirror?
Thanks in advance

The sport mirrors are the ones with a complete housing around them right? Not the chrome mirrors? When I bought my '71 last fall it came with a box of parts. I think I have 2 white sport mirrors I would sell you.

I would also be interested in this answer as I discovered my cable had been cut.

Hi 76, Had mine cut also, if the cables were available I'm not sure how you would fit them!
In the end I just got a new mirror
cheers Dave NZ

Mike, I could be wrong, but those mirrors look like the F-Body mirrors of that era. The difference is that the F-Body pedestal is about an inch shorter than the Corvette pedestal. Needless to say the view to the rear with the F-Body mirror is going to be a great view of your rear quarter panel.

Having said all that, the internal mechanism of both mirrors is the same and you should be able to interchange them.

Good luck... GUSTO

Gusto,

I believe you are correct. I was asked if I could find any part numbers on the mirrors, and when I looked them up it looks like they are in fact 2nd gen F-body mirrors. I will have to edit my for sale post as well.
