Nothing like a house remodel to put a damper on shop time, eh? But, finally finished, so now my time can go back to the car. It's a '73 BB, and I'm down to the bare frame. A couple of things I have questions on if you guys could oblidge........any thoughts or considerations switching to a fiberglass mono spring in the rear on a big block car? What about those coil overs for the front? Anyone running those on a big block car? I found the factory control arms to be somewhat thin metal. Maybe that's normal...(frame seems kinda thin too). I'm getting ready to order some things and was wondering what the consensus was on suspensions. Thanks for any guidance/opinions.
P.S. The engine should be done this week. Bored .030 over, fair idle cam, and going back with the stock heads, but bigger valves installed. Should move down the road fairly well one day.
Thanks. Just planning it as a weekend cruiser. No track or road course planned. I have no problem going back stock with the front suspension, just very rusted, pitted control arms need replacing. The front springs are rusty as well but could be sandblasted I suppose. While looking for replacement parts I saw the coilovers and control arm kit. Just didn't know if anybody was using them with the heavy big block .
