Not that I doubt the Quick Fuel guys, I just want to hear from someone else using a simple pressure regulator with more than 450hp. I've been getting 7 to 8 lbs from the Holley manual pump to the Quick Fuel 780VS and I think this is causing my occasional cold start flooding problems. Quick Fuel recommends using the 30-803 regulator to keep the carb fed at 6 to 6.5 max. They say this regulator would support 500hp even if I'm just using one of the outlets. My engine is the first photo, thinking about plumbing it like the second photo.
All the identical designs I've seen online like the Holley 12-803, 12-804 seem to have a 7/32" restriction which would maybe support up to 400hp. Tell me if my fears about that are unfounded please!
I do miss my old Edelbrock pump, she ran 6 to 6.5 all day long.

Are you sure you have flooding problems and not simply a choke that is set too tight (rich)? Holley carburetors will tolerate up to 7 psi but 6-1/2 to 6 psi is much better.

I've tried every choke setting on the dial. Mostly kept it where the choke comes off very quickly. Doesn't make much difference.
