Default ENGINE WAKES UP!!

I had the motor professionally done and tuned by the best Rod shop in San Diego but I knew it was not realizing it's true potential. Today my cousin Kenny came over and we swapped out plugs/ wires (8mm Taylor) checked out the distibuter(stock with Hypertech/ MSD guts) advanced it another 4 degrees. And adjusted the fuel ratio on the Eldebrock carb. It still has a momentary flat spot at 2000-2300 RPM but after that it runs like a raped ape! . :D I took her down to the beach to cruise and got a hair up my butt. At the light I punched it and started going sideways (no 225/70's here, soft compound 255/45/17 tires) then straightended it back up and at 35 MPH at 3500 RPM I PUNCHED IT and shifted to 2nd and it spun tire 75 ft down the road (yeah nothing for you BB guys but what used to be a 210 HP stock SB  ). Also keep in mind I'm running 2 1/2" Hookers straight back to Monza mufflers (you can see straight through them) and at full throttle it sounds like the world is coming to an end. I caught out of the corner of my eye a group of people ducking back into a store as I passed by as if a Sherman tank or F-14 at full afterburner was hauling butt down the street. I probably can be heard 5 blocks away. This thing is unreal!! :smash: :smash: I still need to solve the small flat spot but the torque off this 4X4 cam is sick!! All these months I never knew what I had under the hood, Kenny if your out there YOU ROCK!!!!!  I do not recommend and condemn my childish driving on public streets but it was SOOOO COOL!!! :jester

Arrrrrghh, I was planning on going down to the beach today, even thought of the possibility of seeing you down there again.

sounds way  - are you going up to the clairemont cruise tommorrow (sunday?) if so I will surely be there.

congrats - I'm getting very antse about building my new motor - perhaps its time I started.

Sounds good to me, it will give me time to eat breakfast and then wash my car.

It's really nice to get some HP out of these old motors. My speedo goes to about 80MPH, now that's good for second gear !

Hey isn't there a beach down there called Blacks Beach or something like that, can't remember the early '80's were a little fuzzy. :D

I happened upon black's Beach by accident while surfing. It's not all cracked up to be as it should. I think I saw Rosanne's look alike naked and haven't been right since.
