1969 steering rebuild

Got my rebuilt steering box back from tracdogg2 and its looking good.
I am about to order a full round steering flext coupler (rag joint). Looking at zip's it appears I want to go with one of two options.
A complete one or just the lower half and re-use my steering side.
When I looked at my steering coupler side I noticed the splines on the two sides that are pinched in seem to be kinda crushed. I assume this is from crushing it down on the steering but is that normal. It is hard to picture and see but its crushed smooth on the left and right side of the picture.
I will probably just end up getting the complete upper and lower now just to be safe.
