cigarette lighter help
My G-tech should be coming in the mail anyday now and I was wondering how to hook up my lighter so that I can plug it in. It is disconnected, im guessing by the guy who had it before us. What is the best way that I can do this without frying all of the wires? It would also be useful for blowing up the tires.

Here is what I did... First I determined that the lighter socket was not hot, so I couldnt plug the Gtech into the existing socket. Then I pulled out the ashtray, which gave me access to wires in the console. Then I found a hot wire, using my electrical whosamajigger... that little meter gizmo with the dial on it and the little electrodes. After identifying the hot wire, I disconnected my car battery!!!! Got an accessory socket from Radio Shack and spliced it in to the hot wire. If I am not using it I can just close the little door by the cigarette lighter and hide the whole mess. MJ
