I went out and started my 68 went to grab a drink and all of a sudden the engine just stopped. Hopped back in to start it and it turns over but won't start. Currently have HEI distributor installed and have 12 volts to the power wire on distro. Where or what should I check next?
Getting fuel but no spark. Measure 12 volts to ignition module then on outlet side of module it measure 1.37 and .40 cranking. Have 12 volts to the coil but only getting 1.37 out of coil cranking. Guessing it is a bad coil.
Been through this before twice. Order a new ignition control module or even pick one up from a local parts store. It takes 10 minutes to switch out the bad one.
And make sure you follow the directions that come with the module for installation. You have to put dielectric grease on the bottom of the module or it won't last long. Found that out years ago on my son's Cavalier. Good luck.

Dielectric grease to better transfer heat from module to distributor body.
I went to throw the top back on and roll up the windows and for the hell of it bumped it over and it started. Let in warm up and when I revved it a little it dies again. Figured once the module got hot it was cutting out. Well replaced the module and still won't start. I hate electrical just because of this. ANY ideas here guys?????
