Charging problem/question
I recently replaced my alternator because my original sounded like an off key rap song (no offence). Since its replacement, my battery went dead. I though I had left the door open because after taking the car cover off a few weekends ago, I found the door wasn't totally closed. I then charged the battery and went on my way for a few weeks. I just came back from a weeks vacation to find my battery dead again. After some investigation I found something was drawing .3A with the car off and all doors closed. I decided to first remove the alternator since its the newest item and I never had this problem before its replacement. After removing the field wires, the current draw went for .3A to .01A. I connected my original alternator and it also draws .01A. Anyone know what inside the replacement alternator would cause this type of current draw. Just curious after spending the weekend troubleshooting...
