Default LT-1 Oil Pan

I am getting ready to install a new Fel-Pro four piece oil pan gasket set on my 1970 Corvette LT-1.

I am going to use 3M Weatherstrip Adhesive to hold the cork and rubber gasket in-place on the block with the pan bolts installed for alignment purpose.

Also, I am going to use Permatex RTV sealant on the four corners where the cork and rubber meet.

Should I put a small layer of RTV sealant on the underside of the rubber gasket before installing the pan? (That is where I had a leak before)

Thanks

It wouldn't be necessary because when you bolt the pan up it squashes the daylights out of those neoprene end seals. But yes, oil resistant RTV needs to go into the 4 corners where cork meets neoprene.

the way you are doing it sounds fine, just a few dabs where the neoprene meets the cork sometimes in the past I would put a little emphasis little under the neoprene.
Have you thought of using a one piece? I will always use a one piece instead of a multiple now.
