I have replaced the wiper motor and now it works when I press the washer to work. I have replaced the ground wire to the starter. But the wipers do not work yet in low or high speed. Am I looking at the switch or is there another relay that I am looking for. Supposedly the relay in the console does not exist in the 1972. Any ideas as to where to look next?

The wiper motor grounds thru the switch so if the switch itself isn't grounded the motor won't run. If you have the switch dangling connect a jumper wire to it and a good ground and try it again.
The panel that the switch mounts to has to be grounded for the switch to get ground also. Connect a jumper from a good ground to the panel the switch is on and see if they work now.

Thanks it was the ground and a backwards connector on the switch. Love these old cars with 3 or 4 former owners.
