I am in the process of ordering parts for the LT1 swap in to a 78 Pacecar. I am using the motor out of a 96 corvette with a t-56, 6-Speed. I am wondering if the motor mounts will line up or not, if the stock (1978) ac components will work with the newer compressor, and can I use an out of tank fuel pump(like a holley, or weiand), and still have the correct fuel pressure and volume. and how will the shifter line up in the interior cabin? I know the Original 4-speed uses external shifer rods, whereas the T-56 uses internal. How could I get around this? I know its alot of questions but I want to do this right(This is the same car I rode home from the hospital as a new born, and the car my parents took on a honey moon.)
check with vettedan ,and ls-1 , they both have that motor in theres and know what had to be done.oops read it wrong you want a lt-1 in yours not the ls-1.the lt-1 motor mounts should be in the same spot as a standard 350.
and yes you can use an inline pump for the fuel injection holley aeroquip and a few others make a pump for mpfi.
