Default Tires for a 1969

I am replacing the tires on my 69 and I would like to have the Firestone Wide Oval look, but I don't want the polyester tire performance. Does anyone know if there are steelbelted tires that are Firestone wide ovals? has anyone ever purchased tires from Coker Tire? and is the quality good?

Coker's tires are excellent. I've got wide whitewall radials on my 60 driver and repop redlines on one of my 67's from them. I've also got repop F70 15 white stripes on two of the 69's. I've never had any complaints with their products. Kelsey Tire's Goodyear original style tires are also excellent if the Goodyear brand is what you prefer. I prefer the Goodyear stuff myself, but Coker's more convenient with one day UPS ground service to here and I think their selection is a little broader. If you go with a radial, probably something around a 205 70 15 is about as close to the original F70's as you can get, although the car's got room for a bigger tire. Somebody had stuck 255 60's on one of the 69's when I found it, but they were rubbing in the back of the front fenderwells.

Coker's tires are excellent. .
:yesnod: I've heard good things about 'em, though I just run modern white letter Firestone ss20's on my '69. Their web page is http://www.coker.com
