Default Experiences during the restoration

Hi Guys,
first greets from me to you all. My Name is Michael and iam from Germany - Cologne. I've a 69er SB in Riverside Gold Black Interior.

Okay, after i bought my baby, i found out, the vette must have been red with red interoir. But it has been nearly perfectly painted in Gold. The interior has mostly sprayed black any time and cause of that, the paint is bad. Also anybody used sensless screws in the panels and destroyed them by this way... So i decided to replace them and bought some new parts(Is it allowed to name the company?). So long so good, until i fixed the rear quater panels. Now the nightmare begins. It just does not fit.

The ugly old one fits perfectly, but the new one ... horrible
And there is no way to fix the new part, i checked out everything Its only a litlle better on the other side. A case for expanding foam ...
So my question is: Whats ur experience about that china parts and wich company has got the best accuracy??
I hope i havent done a lot of english mistakes
Thx 4 help and many greets

Hi Michael, and welcome. Not sure who you purchased your parts from. I think you are okay mentioning who since most of the vendors buy from the same distributors. I started my 69 restore 1/2 years ago. I thought WOW you just but the replacement parts and Bam they just fit perfectly. Boy was I wrong. Depending what the part is some are good, some close and some bad. It is part of the dilemma of working on these older cars. I have had good success with Paragon, ZIP and some smaller vendors.

From your picture it sure looks like a nice car. I know pictures can be deceiving. Good luck in your search. I have found an assortment of good vendors depending on what I was needing like:

Wiring - Lectric Limited
Big City Corvettes - An actual salvage yard for corvettes. Tell them what you are looking for and they go out in their yard and find it.
Wilcox - Carpets
Al Knock - Interior
ETC>

Welcome Charly,
My 69 was once riverside gold and will return to that color in the near future.
Your car is a beauty!
So far I have tried a couple of vendors, I have sent a couple things back so whoever you use, make sure they have a good return policy because you are likely to get some crappy parts mixed in with the good ones. For the most part, I have been very happy.
