wheels and speed -o

My speed o is off 10 mph if I put taller tires or wheels on will this make the speed O closer to right or make it go even more off ? Thanks :seeya

IF it's over indicating now, the taller tire will give you more diameter and make the car faster for any given tire revolution...all the speedo really does is measure the driveshaft revolutions, and with proper gears in place, that is relative to speed.....

so if your speedo is under indicating, taller tires will make it even more so...

Go to Smokemup.com and use their calculators to find out what changes need to be made for correction.
Tire size, gear ratio, and speedometer gears in transmission all have an affect on speedometer accuracy. http://smokemup.com/auto_math/index.php

It'll be a little more off ...but don't feel bad - my '68 is off, too (about 10mph) :crazy:
