Currently have both doors dismantled for rebuilding and the paint job.
Question; Would you rather apply tint to the windows while they are out of the door, or wait to tint until they are mounted inside the door? It's obviously easier when the glass is laying flat in front of you, but are the hazards of scratching the tint during glass installation very likely/easily done?
It gets pretty hot around here for most of the year, especially just a few miles inland from the coast. I really appreciated the tinted windows the car had, but the scratches in it were too much to let go. Besides, it was a bit too dark of a tint for me (kinda sinister ). Was more of a Phoenix shade than a San Diego one.
If you've ever seen tint installed on door windows, it's really easy the way they tuck it under the seal and slide the tint in place to adhere. No big deal.
If anything it may be more difficult with the window loose and moving on them. Plus the damage factor on install.

I was worried about a lot of water running down into the door, but I could stuff towels in there through the motor door, and then put the interior door panel on after they tint the window.
