I'll be making some wiring changes to my unmolested '79 in the near future.
Headlamp relays, a temp/compass/garage opener rear view mirror, 3rd brake light, DRLs and "headlamp not locked" warning light.
No problem for me to draw schematics but where can I put them in the car so that future owners (or perhaps even me) know exactly what has been changed should there be a problem?
I recently helped a friend with severe electrical problems in a highly modified (by previous owner) car. What a nightmare! The only salvation was that he had an identical (but unmodified) parts car that I could use for comparison.

Not to over state the obvious, but what about the glove box?
Or glue them or a packing slip envelope for them on the underside of the battery lid. Mine has custom paint mixing instructions and paint codes under there.

Or laminate them - and put it on top of your gas tank....
I really like the in an envelope taped to the underside of the battery compartment lid. With "Wiring Modifications--Schematics Inside" written on the envelope anyone working on the electrical system will certain notice. Won't get lost or damaged like in the glove box. Won't be overlooked/completely missed like on top of the gas tank. Not subject to changes in electronic media forms/formats.
My wiring changes/additions are in with the wiring diagrams in the chiltons manual I use. Either penciled onto the page or stuck in as complete diagrams
Part changes (belts, filters, bulbs, etc) are all written on a paper stuck to the inside cover of the chiltons
Non-stock (pretty much everything) paint brand and powder coat colors and on that sheet as well
I figure when this thing ever goes, all that will go with it.
