When I turn on the A/C in my '82, the compressor clutch repeatedly clicks on and off. The air flow and temp are fine, but engine RPM's jump around as the A/C clutch kicks on and off. Any ideas what the problem might be?
I would think:
- low refridgerant
- bad pressure switch
- bad clutch
- electrical problem
- low refridgerant
Temp wouldn't be fine
- bad pressure switch
more likely
- bad clutch
noise
- electrical problem
usually on or off but possible if high resistance due to corrosion
