Smell Gas 81 C3
I recently purchased a new Quickfuel SL600. it sites on top of a TorkerII Manifold all on a new 350/290 Crate Motor.
I adjusted the floats level in the sight glass as the manufacturer suggests.
Timing is set at 10 Deg BTDC and total timing is 32.
idles fine once you feather the throttle to get it to smooth out then the electric choke high idle takes over.
The idle mixture has been set to the highest vacuum reading on the guage at idle.
Everything on the carb is stock pink cam on accelerator pump and pump set to .0014 inch clearance.
Every morning well actually every time I come into the garage I smell gasoline.
I checked the oil it not increasing volume. I checked the fuel line, no leaks. I checked the fuel tank, no leak.
I don't know what to check next.

Burning Brakes
Kneel down behind the left front wheel. If the odor is strongest there, then the vapor cannnister is probably saturated. It happened to mine with the same symptoms. There is an excellent write up on the net on how to rebuild your old one with photos. I rebuilt mine and it solved the odor problem.
